Patents – safeguarding our technology

The company holds more than 25 patents for 3D ToF technology and has filed a further 40 worldwide. These patents protect the unique PMD principle, our manufacturing process (CMOS), related process technology, PMD applications and our state-of-the-art functionality, as well as suppression of background illumination (SBI) and scalable pixel architectures. The basic patents were secured in 1996, and all subsequent developments are based on them. We have ensured that our world-class PMD technology is protected – today and in the future.
